This program automatically pulls in the number of power outages in each city and town served by National Grid in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and stores the information in a database. The data are updated every 15 minutes, providing an opportunity to analyze the utility company's performance during and after service disruptions.
The top chart shows peak power outages since the beginning of 2012. Put your cursor over the chart to see the date and the maximum number of outages for that day. Click on the line to see additional details.
Those details are shown in the bottom chart, and in the map. The bottom chart graphs power outages for a particular day. Click on a point on the line graph on the bottom chart and the map changes to reflect power outages by town for that particular time.
